More about me…

I was born and raised in Philadelphia and the suburbs. I actually grew up in Jenkintown. The three words that best describe me are determined, caring and empathic.

What sets me apart from the hundreds of other psychiatrists in this area is my unique and personal understanding of the cultural and racial implications of daily life in this country has been combined with the education and experience I’ve gained in years of practice.

I completed my Residency training here in Philadelphia, at Thomas Jefferson University. During my Residency I served as the Chief Resident for the Jefferson Psychiatric Associates. After Residency I went on to complete a Clinical Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.

I’ve worked in every aspect of psychiatric care. This includes hospital, emergency, crisis, forensic, long term care, community mental health, and private practice. I have trained in traditional and nontraditional methods of treatment. I have also studied both biological and analytical approaches to psychiatric treatment. I honestly believe that mental health care is necessary and that treatment cannot be preset or determined by anyone other than the client and his/her provider. Which is why I am still here and determined to help!
